Could just order some from China(1). Have to read the description carefully tho. Usually anything under 15USD not worth buying and over 30USD you're overpaying.
qwsc was referring to the almost-free international postal rates for parcels that China received from USPS when it was a struggling exporter decades ago.
As in, lower than domestic parcel rates inside the USA, typically in the range of $1 - $2.
I believe Trump mentioned considering re-negotiating that deal recently, which nobody has objected to.
It's not a subsidy specific to China. It's an international agreement to charge certain international rates for postage. It applies only to packages under a certain size and weight.
But it probably should go away. It creates this weird imbalance where shipping things from China to the US can be cheaper than shipping something to your next door neighbor.
I would love to see youtube add more videos to the recommended section. Right now I believe the limit is 18. When you load the homepage it shows you 12 tiles and you can click "show more" to display 6 more for a total of 18.
Yeah, this is the most annoying thing for me too. They have an endless stream of recommendations if you go to www.youtube.com/feed/recommended , so why not put it in the main page?
I can only assume that it's an intentional marketing thing to get people to watch other things.
Seems to work fine for me. You just have to click "not interested" on every video of the topic that you don't like and after 5 times or so it stops recommending that topic.
Let's say you watched a video called "Top 10 most amazing things you never knew until today" and now the youtube algo recommends you a bunch of clickbait. Just hit "not interested" on every single clickbait video you see and eventually it stops showing you those videos unless you watch more of them.
I've got rid of updates and some of the tracking on my Win10 pro by disabling the associated windows services. Other annoying quirks like the OneDrive icon can be removed by editing the registry. I do wish that Microsoft would provide an easier way to do this.
There are a few automated scripts that do this... what was it, 98 lite or something like that back in the day... need something similar for windows 10.
