Yes, those of us in Coos Bay and the nearby region refer to this tiny little area as the "Bay Area". Growing up, I didn't realize SF was the "real" Bay Area. ;)

The game, Gravitron, looks very similar to an old Ludum Dare entry called Graviton:

It's a really cool game concept, even cooler being written in OCaml! :)

Not only is this game a total blast to play, but it's also one of the only games that I think is best played on a trackpad instead of with a mouse.

However if I were the creator of this game, I'd be pretty pissed at the one in the OP. One was obviously inspired by the other.

Convergent evolution :) I made the version version of Gravitron in 2006

> I'm saying that for anything recent, you often end up having to compile software from source...

With regards to OpenBSD, your statement is factually incorrect. Most packages are up to date with OpenBSD. FreeBSD is not OpenBSD. Users of OpenBSD are discouaraged from compiling direclty from ports unless they have a good reason (and 99% of the time there is not a good reason.)

Interesting, I guess my exposure to OpenBSD has been too limited.

The article states:

> Linux is not yet "ready for the desktop," and I'm doubtful it will ever be—at least not in the sense that an average person could use it full-time without any assistance.

By this definition, Windows and Mac OS X are both not ready for the desktop. I have had "average people" come to me and rely on me for assistance with both (especially Windows) many times.

I know right? I got interested in _why after he vanished (but before the big article). Loved his video on Hackety Hack and Kaxxt. Excited that he might come back after all... we'll see!

This thing will open in two days. Which means it isn't open right now. Sorry, it just isn't.

How apt. Ruby is from Japan. April 18th is, according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_18#Holidays_and_observanc...) "Invention Day" in Japan.
