i put this discussion into NotebookML (its previous 'two hosts generated podcast' main feature is now 'Audio Overview')

it opened with: "We probably wouldn't have had LLMs if it wasn't for AA". 11/10 lol

i've been occasionally trying to get some usable ambience tracks from these various models, but none of them seem to be able to produce looping tracks

based on results so far it also looks like more flexible approach to ai generation would be to generate set of stems/samples based on user description and let them to actually compose instead of producing complete audio (maybe this is already happening somewhere)

- in either case, properly looped tracks will be most likely necessary to be produced by these models at some point

Creating looping sections with Sunauto is generally not very difficult as the model is overly consistent when extending, so all you have to do is extend without changing the prompt and you should get a loop point.

If you have lyrics in your conditioning then you usually can use a [Chorus] section as your loop point as most music AI models render chorus section in away that affords crossfades. THAT ASSUMES that you keep the chorus sections with a gap less than about 60 seconds with 30 seconds exention as it can only see 90 seconds of the music track (or something in that range)

- no lyrics and no chorus- i mentioned ambience track - these are instrumental, often minimalistic they don't attract attention...

> Creating looping sections with Sunauto is generally not very difficult as the model is overly consistent when extending

the point is not consistent extension, but consistent extension (if any) plus starting audio

have you actually did this and got usable looped track ?

You can create a looped track by combining the song generation and transition generation examples from our API example repo!

would you be so kind and

- link to both example

- briefly outline process of combining them for this usecase

- since this is API usage i suppose it's most likely not viable to obtain (reasonably) looped audio via user prompting (i.e. what's currently available in browser) - would that be correct ?

screen, or `nohup` (at least in bash) ^)

... The government of New Zealand is listing the ComponentPro SAML library as suitable for usage within the wider government sector. ComponentPro is a long-running scam based in Vietnam and all their libraries are based on code stolen from legitimate vendors.

> It could have been stopped diplomatically

no - you have no idea what you're talking about search for VVX post invasion speech on YT - it's about an hour long - in full - the insanity is clearly on display there

Yup. You would think it can be stopped by diplomacy in the West, while this only allows mr Putin to continue to expand, and "save us from nazis".

I did not mean negotiation. Diplomatically can be showing force but not using it. Like publically saying if Russia invades then The US and UK will close and defend the airspace as their commitment to the Budapest agreement, while moving some forces around the area. Russia wouldn't have dared if the west had made moves they believed.

moving troops to show decision/support is already not (well - just) diplomacy, though

otherwise yes - on all your points above, but the current rasha leader counted exactly on lack of all of those steps - similarly as before/after annexation of crimea

(and even after some limited physical display of western armed forces support would have happened that wouldn't have stopped him IMHO - this is based on extremely bad intel about overall mood towards invaders/occupiers of common ukrainians and his own mad delusion)

i was testing low disk space like situation on a Mac Mini used as small home network storage/server, maybe ~ 1o years ago (running maybe Yosemite at the time or something similar) out of curiosity - so Intel mac and pre-APFS system

not sure it this was OS or filesystem feature, but it refused to allocate literally anything if free space reached ~ 100-500MB on system partition so it was being kept _always_ usable, even logging was denied IIRC

Their whole discography managed on streaming platforms by TuneCore was taken down (supposedly after Benn's criticism and shorting of Spotify)

"Late on Tuesday, Jordan's music was returned to streaming platforms, but Jordan told Ars that he didn't consider that "a happy ending."

it would be maybe interesting to know how was Lem thinking about the actual algorithmic process the machine uses while writing this:

- purely symbolic with myriads of symbolic (if-else) clauses similar to expert systems, or

- sub symbolical ANN networks similar to current LLMs

i suspect it was the former in which case that he actually arrived at description of current large NNs is really striking I think

Dunno about this fragment, but in general in 60s he usually wrote about AI as "cybernetic electronic brain" or "cybernetic black boxes". Cybernetic in the old sense - not the cyberpunk implants, but the analog devices with feedback loops.

He wrote A LOT about this and explored various consequences, including the simulation argument which he presented in 1960 as a short story "Strange chests of professor Corcoran" - https://przekroj.org/sztuka-opowiesci/dziwne-skrzynie-profes... here's the Polish version).

In Summa Technologiae he discusses statistical learning and matrices.

that's really awesome

, he's had extraordinary intuition with this

that's iOS/iPadOS app

but it runs on ARM/M1 and up Macs, yes

(developer of the app has to explicitly enable this)

i think i bought it twice since they discontinued prev. version IIRC

just CD player initially

first iOSs didn't support user's videos playback

It was a software limitation, IIRC. There were hacks that allowed you to record and play the small videos it generated.
