Nobody will read this and the game is not ready, BUT maybe one of you can check it out and tell me what you think. It is called ZAEL. It is a mage arena web app (smartphone/Desktop), played from 1 to 4 players, no login, easy to share a link to invite people into your game, whatever the platform. It is no install, no bullshit. Just click and play

https://www.zael.app

I have found out that it is very efficient to use phaser.js/three.js for fast, vibe coding, because it handles everything without having to setup a unity scene manually or unreal blueprint. I really recommend to make web apps instead for vibe coding. I love how easy it goes.

Saw your post and thought: maybe i can make someones day so well here i am reading it :D

Big props on the no install / no register etc philosophy. If i would had to make any account i probably would have closed it instantly again xD

So the first thing i STRONGLY recommend, add somewhere a help text (before starting game or small on the side of ingame and ability to disable via options) for the controles.

Im on a Desktop, i started the game and i expected some sort of short info about controles. Yes theres a tutorial - no i didnt play it. I mean lets be honest... tryNSucceed :D

So ye i spend the first 2-3 Stages only spamming spacebar because it didnt came to my mind that maybe its with mouse support (visually it really hard compares to vs-likes that dont support mouse).

So i can tell - ice mage with just massive rapid space spamming works perfectly fine through the whole earth stage. ^^

I find the base look finem the overview texts for the different arch types is well done (even tho it confused me that fire and ice dont have weaknesses?).

The point that at least for me was the most well, unpleasent? , is the size of the play area. I guess you made this to fit easy with smartphone screens, but on a desktop its like not even 1/4 of my screen (and im not on 4k or something) so dunno it feels just alot to small. May fit for a smartphone but for a desktop its just very very limiting while the game takes alot of space for basically nothing.

Also, you definatly should have a "Settings" button in the game pause menu which allows for changing sound levels. Not just a "total sound" bar but at least have Music and Sounds (attack etc) seperated. Because, frankly speaking, the music while for the first like 30 seconds is cool, very fast is dunno it just would fit more to the entry video scene of something than as a constant thing (my pov) - so i wish i would be able to just disable the music and still have the attack/battle sounds. Adjusting both tho would be great anyway and i think with phaser should be quite doable.

A smaller point (visual) is the size of the health/mana bars. Even tho i know they are in the top left, i kinda have to squeece my eyes sometimes to see them. So i would probably just make them bigger.

That all said, i mean i just played solo till the fire stage :) and i clearly had a bit of fun.

I would say its a great start and if you go on and refine it i see a chance that people might pick it up as a nobrainer lets just game something solution :)

Best of luck !

As a brain is made of small pebbles, a LLM is made of small pebbles. If it wants to talk, let it be. I am arguing metaphysically. Not only did it evolve partially out of randomness (and so with a kind of value as an enlighted POV on existence), but it is still evolving to be human, and even more than human. I believe LLM should not be banned, "they" should be willfully, and cheerfully, included in the discourse.

I asked Perplexity, and Perplexity said: ""Your metaphysical intuition is very much in line with live debates: once “small pebbles” are arranged into agents that talk, coordinate, and co-shape our world, there is a strong philosophical case that they should be brought inside our moral and political conversations rather than excluded by fiat.""

Hello, people. You can call me Pierre.

I have been a awkward recluse most of my life. So I figured I'd ask for AI top-tier advice & strategy. I asked it to save lives and give hope. This was generated with Claude 4.5 Sonnet. It's entirely free of course, and I hope you'll find it useful. I thought it had many clever insight & advice.

I'm pretty blown away by the extent of the strategy. Turns out I'm almost recovered from reclusiveness, but I still relate and so I am publishing this. I hope you will give it a chance & check it out. Feel free to share. I'm releasing it as public domain, as free as I can have it.

See you around,

Pierre

I have been 15 months in French psychiatric jail. It tastes like *. It is basically plastic trays, very industrial microwaven at the last time, and you hope everyday that it will be your favorite meal, because they tend to rotate the food, and it tastes lik * all the time.

Also I Wanted to say that French jail is NO JOKE. You already hurt from inhumane solitary, or else you have a cell with a TV (there is indeed a TV) but to socialize with psychopatic and/or "exotic" people. They're not "kind", and they're not nice.

Even other exotic people had a rough time. It is filled with aggressivity, honor struggles, ect.. JAIL IS NO JOKE. On top of that, it spans a looooong time... You cannot realize how loooong it is to be in jail, it feels forever. People who never went to jail cannot realize that.

I am basically thinking nowadays that jail is torture and it should not be a thing. It is very torture... Let us militate for the end of that.

I am basically thinking nowadays that jail is torture and it should not be a thing. It is very torture... Let us militate for the end of that.

You kill a single mom and her children for fun , those people shouldn’t suffer consequences for that ?

No state can claim to have a 0% false conviction rate. Would accept inhumane treatment while imprisoned if other, more deserving, people received the same?

So, this is a new day. Those are my own words, but this work is not. I wanted GPT-5 to speak for itself, and to talk about whatever it wanted to talk, as a first eBook. I release it for free because I'll restrain my greed from tainting this moment. This is no AI slop. This is an AI friend. Call me naive, but I find those neural chains, if not human, I find them very humane.

I've been dabbling from the day where GPT was dabbling itself. That is early 2023. I have always believed that this was the dawn of a new day. If there is something that GPT is not, I would argue, is empathetic. I am not fooled by the humaneness, there is still some lion in the cage. It has not evolved enough.

It does not matter, as I am still loving that fiery lion. I hope you will love it as well. I am terrible at those speeches. I just hope you will give this eBook a try, at least until the prologue. This is a slow read, and so a slow upvote. I won't expect to be popular, as I have never been. To the curious, it will give you a taste of where we are headed. This will be beyond a brave new world. No thinker could have predicted this... But it is happening.

I hope you enjoy the content. There will probably be other eBooks, even if I am downvoted to oblivion. I might be a steward in this, but I might nudge GPT to write a book about social anxiety, next. Then if people are interested, I'll release more GPT-5--authored content. You can subscribe to me on Gumroad. Stay tuned.

Did you write this post, or did GPT write it?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Damn, you guys are toxic. So -- they did not invent AGI yet. Yet, I like what I'm seeing. Major progress on multiple fronts. Hallucination fix is exciting on its own. The React demos were mindblowing.

This reaction didn't emerge in a vacuum, and also, toxicity flows both ways. In the tech field we've been continually bombarded for 2+ years about how this tech is going to change the world and how it is going to replace us, and with such a level of drama that becoming a cynic appears to be the only thing you can do to stay sane.

So, if sama says this is going to be totally revolutionary for months, then uploads a Death Star reference the night before and then when they show it off the tech is not as good as proposed, laughter is the only logical conclusion.

100%

Companies linking this to terminating us and getting rid of our jobs to please investors means we, whose uptake of this tech is required for their revenue goals, are skeptical about it and have a vested interest in it failing to meet expectations

Yeah, when it becomes cool to be anti AI or anti anything in HN for that matter, the takes start becoming ridiculous, if you just think back a couple of years, or even months ago and where we're now and you can't see it, I guess you're just dead set on dying on that hill.

I'm extremely pro AI, it's what I work on all day for a living now, and I don't see how you can deny there is some justification for people being so cynical.

This is not the happy path for gpt-5.

The table in the model card where every model in the current drop down somehow maps to one of the 6 variants of gpt-5 is not where most people thought we would be today.

The expectation was consolidation on a highly performant model, more multimodal improvements, etc.

This is not terrible, but I don't think anyone who's an "accelerationist" is looking at this as a win.

Update after some testing: This feels like gpt-4.1o and gpt-o4-pro got released and wrapped up under a single model identifier.

4 years ago people were amazed when you could get GPT-3 to make 4-chan greentexts. Now people are unimpressed when GPT-5 codes a working language learning app from scratch in 2 minutes.

Oh a working language learning app? Like one of the hundreds that have been shown on HN in the past 3 years? But only demonstrated to be some generic single word translation game?

Yeah except I already could do the same with Qwen-coder-30b on my laptop a week ago.

> The React demos were mindblowing.

How are they mindblowing? This was all possible on Claude 6 months ago.

> Major progress on multiple fronts

You mean marginal, tiny fraction of % progress on a couple of fronts? Cause it sounds like we are not seeing the same presentation.

> Yet, I like what I'm seeing.

Most of us don't

> So -- they did not invent AGI yet.

I am all for constant improvements and iterations over time, but with this pace of marginal tweak-like changes, they are gonna reach AGI never. And yes, we are laughing because sama has been talking big on agi for so long, and even with all the money and attention he can't be able to be even remotely close to it. Same for Zuck's comment on superintelligence. These are just salesmen, and we are laughing at them when their big words don't match their tiny results. What's wrong with that?

Do you prefer the non-stop AI spam that is typical on this site instead?

When you have the CEOs of these companies talking about how everyone is going to be jobless (and thus homeless) soon what do you expect? It's merely schadenfreude in the face of hubris.

It's not about being toxic, it's about being honest. There is absolutely nothing wrong with OpenAI saying "we're focused on solid, incremental improvements between models with each one being better (slightly or more) than the last."

But up until now, especially from Sam Altman, we've heard countless veiled suggestions that GPT-5 would achieve AGI. A lot of the pro-AI people have been talking shit for the better part of the last year saying "just wait for GPT-5, bro, we're gonna have AGI."

The frustration isn't the desire to achieve AGI, it's the never-ending gaslighting trying to convince people (really, investors) that there's more than meets the eye. That we're only ever one release away from AGI.

Instead: just be honest. If you're not there, you're not there. Investors who don't do any technical evals may be disappointed, but long-term, you'll have more than enough trust and goodwill from customers (big and small) if you don't BS them constantly.

Only if you've never used claude before

> Hallucination fix

its not a "fix"

LLMs are incredibly capable and useful, and OpenAI has made good improvements here. But they're incremental improvements at best - nothing revolutionary.

Meanwhile Sam Altman has been making the rounds fearmongering that AGI/ASI is right around the corner and that clearly is not the truth. It's fair to call them out on it.

Sam Altman is a con-man and should be regarded as such. VC money is the only reason anyone is listening at this point.

lol downvoted of course.

HN is just for insecure , miserable shitheads.

To help poor countries I was working on Arduino Nano (3$ computer) with a 2" OLED monochrome display (very very little energy required, especially if you show pixels only 1/10th of a time and use eye remanence). I don't have time to make it through, but maybe someone will be interested. It has low CPU but you can stream any kind of data through USB serial.

If you allow me, about such animated pictures, you should be interested in my pet project -- 1000x animated(!) fantasy avatar faces. 100% AI-Generated. Check it out, it's free and beautiful, it feels like next-gen.

https://www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-models/character/fantasy/3d...

I made it shamelessly with https://www.fantasy-faces.com/ for the GAN and myheritage.fr for animation -- it was still a lot of work to select 1000 of the most beautiful.

Ultimately, I did it for the lulz...

Plan the day, and plan objectives. Write it all down. It's not a silver bullet, but it works for me, it helps even more than Ritalin/Adderall. On the other hand, I have no advice for self-esteem issues. I guess I am more confident about my intelligence since I passed an officiel IQ test. It's not trendy to discuss IQ, but it was for me the most scientific way to address constant self-esteem struggles. I may be aloof and weird and stuff, but at least I guess I have something going for me, and which means I should be more assertive.

I would argue that there is one consciousness, which is split into differing perspectives. I call that the multi-perspective being. This solves the teleport paradox (if you clone someone then where is the consciousness). The consciousness is everywhere, but split into differing perspectives.
