Look, cross platform is already a lost cause as OS manufacturers will always departs from competitor design flavors, so that it will be costlier to adapt to other platforms, so each OS manufacturers can have loyal developers who won't write code that work on competitor's platforms. This has been happening for ever.

Secondly, how many time is it necessary to whine that javascript is a bad technology, and that anything that stems from it is destined to less than optimal ends?

JS is great but only for deployment, and it has been its best strength, but JS cannot thrive on mobile, because mobile platform don't offer programming flexibility. Less memory, tighter chips, less battery. Converting from one language to another, and adapting design so it can fit is hacky.

Why does everybody is always jumping in on brand new shining ships?
