One of my first ever jobs they announced minor redundancies on, say Tuesday afternoon, 1M$ in EMEA (maybe 5000 people). Not too concerning. On Wednesday afternoon the same person "corrected" themselves, 2M$ in this office (200 people). The environment after that was... frenetic.

Also enjoyed the same person later responding to suggestions that we could save money across the board by some sort of pay reduction (so that we would lose fewer jobs) "ah, well we already pay significantly under market rate so if we do that then we're likely to lose our best talent"
