I switched to a MacBook Air 2018 from a MacBook Pro 2016 (15”) and I couldn’t be happier. The new hardware is plenty fast enough for my needs, the keyboard and trackpad are better, the battery is better, and the screen is still great... I also switched to a new Mac Mini desktop and upgraded the RAM to 32GB and added an LG 5K. Totally life changing...


Any render lag on that 5k display? I have the new Mac Mini as well but I run it at 1440p.


Not that I notice.


Did you go with the 16 gigs of ram? It seems maybe too much for the dual core processor.


I started with 8, and then manually upgraded to 32... With 32, there is always spare RAM. It just flies.


How good is the battery exactly? Can it last ~10 hours doing web development work?


I have not yet given the battery a solid test so I can’t comment. Others have commented that it’s “great”.
