I work for about 8 hours every M-F. If there's something that I want to check out or do (except for meeting up with friends after work), then it's easier on the weekends.
For instance, there's a world music store that I've been dying to check out. Since it's closed on Sundays, Saturday's the absolute best day for me to go. If I had to I could go after work, but I'm typically pretty tired by that time (not to mention the fact that it's in the opposite direction from my apartment).
If I had an extra day off during the week then I could check it out sooner.
