Realistically the moral panic that someone underage might br able to have a drink in a restaurant probably comes from the same place as the irrational terror that someone, somewhere in the restaurant doesn't have the covid vaccine. It's sad that there are people that think either require government policing


The issue Greenspun is on about is "should the government subsidize the carding process". They don't for liquor licensing, so why for COVID?

Also, for the front-line staff, the key is to be able to say "don't crab at me, it's the law. Take it up with your MLA".

Personal experience is that I love "Can I talk to your boss". Never lost that one!


My point is just that two wrongs don't make a right. Saying they make staff ID people doesn't automatically make it ok for them to have more administrative duties. And the article is festisious anyway, the bigger point is we shouldn't be doing it at all.
