I went through picking a payment provider recently as well. I ended up going with Stripe[1]. It is currently in a closed beta, but if you request an account they are activating after around a week of waiting (you could also try emailing them).

Strip is brilliant - I wish I had it 10 years ago instead of dealing with Paypal or banks and merchant accounts
