Kind of baffling. Why? Is it because:

- From the perspective of the very top of centralized social media, "all the other players" look like niche, "decentralized" in the sense of many small companies, small fries--regardless of how decentralized their tech actually is?

- Because Signal is a alternative already in the fold so to speak (promoted/accepted 'alternative')?

- Because Signal is not quite a household name but and makes for better...PR?

- Because he thinks Signal is positioned to do something useful with it?

Seriously, Jack comes off as seems super genuine, all considered--is that naive or correct? Am I missing something obvious? I'm asking because in a technical sense, the mismatch is an interesting and astute observation.
