MacOS phones home before running an unverified app. I understand why they do it, but I'd rather they didn't. And I definetly hope that Linux doesn't go that route.

... because it supervises and scrutinizes "traffic" coming through the "gate" for security reasons, before letting it inside the "walls" where it might do harm? Like a gatekeeper does?
