I can easily imagine that. Let's say Rust 2028 finally comes up with a solution to the incompatible async and error reporting crates. There's finally one blessed way to do async and one blessed type everyone uses for E in Result. Except your codebase was started in 2020 and uses Tokio and snafu, and both are so baked-in that replacing them is too much effort.
