It's so bad, and so everywhere, that I'm genuinely considering switching to a pre-AI stable distro and waiting 10 years for the AI hyped to be over before updating any piece of software ever again.

This simply isn't true. You're typing on a website that uses it...literally right now. You use countless things that you aren't forking.

I'd believe it, my spotify breaks all the time now and I seem to remember them announcing none of their devs code anymore. not 10 seconds ago I had to force close it to get it to stop playing music on my phone.

I have had to force quit Spotify a couple times recently because it was using many GB of memory to the point where it was unresponsive.
