g++ is no standard. ANSI and ISO are.

Contrary to many in FOSS think, all C and C++ compiler vendors have language extensions and gcc is not immune to this.



Nor did I imply it was, but the point is that if you want to do cross-platform development from Windows to Linux, not recognizing those extension is a show stopper.


Cross-platform development should use only ANSI constructs.
