I like that he mentions "integer". It is still very incredible how JavaScript can work well without a integer construct. Or threads and shared memory. Or bells and whistles.


"JavaScript can work well" - depends on what is understood by 'well'. Some craftsmen are capable of building cars from junk.


Yes as a high-level scripting language it has many uses. You're never gonna write a kernel in it admittedly.


And it would work better with integers. Or are we claiming now it was a good decision to force all numbers to be floats because look how awesome node is?


modern browsers support webworkers so you get "threads" but still no shared memory.
